Ashville— April 6— Rescue 60 was called to a commercial vehicle collision on the 3100 block of Gallitzin Road (Route 53 near Kid Long Road) around 9:30 a.m. on Monday.
Crews arrived to find a refrigerated box truck off the roadway and overturned. Assistant Chief Seese took leadership and verified there were no reported fluid leaks and the driver was not hurt.
While towing resources were requested, rescue workers helped with traffic management. The truck could not be uprighted until it was offloaded due to its weight and damage. Firefighters worked alongside towing crews to remove the cargo, identified as ice cream, before recovery operations continued.
After the car was removed, the road was reopened. PennDOT assisted with traffic operations.
