Jefferson Hills Fire Rescue Battles Fatal House Fire on State Route 885
Jefferson Hills, PA - Jefferson Hills Fire Rescue and mutual aid units responded to the 1600 block of State Route 885 for a reported house fire. Rescue 180 arrived to find heavy fire on the second floor of a two-story home. With reports of a possible occupant inside, the crew—operating with limited staffing—stretched a line and initiated simultaneous search and fire attack under severe conditions.
Firefighters faced heavy fire, zero visibility, and a brief loss of water supply before re-establishing it and continuing interior operations. The fire was brought under control, but sadly, one civilian fatality was confirmed.
