Penn Hills Units Respond to and Contain Working Vehicle Fire

Pittsburgh, PA - Stations 227 and 223 were dispatched to the Penn Hills Shopping Center for a reported vehicle fire. Penn Hills Fire Marshal (PHFM) and Penn Hills Police (PHPD) arrived first and confirmed a working vehicle fire that was not threatening nearby structures or other vehicles. Engine 227 (227EN) arrived shortly after, and crews began knocking down the fire. Engine 223 (223EN) arrived on scene and supplied water to 227EN to support suppression efforts.


Firefighters extinguished the remaining hotspots and ensured the vehicle was fully cooled before clearing the scene. The incident was mitigated without injuries, and all units returned to service approximately 40 minutes later. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
