YOUNGWOOD, PA — March 7th — A car crash along the train lines behind Shop n Save was reported to the Youngwood Volunteer Fire Department, located at 104 S 2nd St., Youngwood, PA. When Rescue 26 arrived, they found a car that had collided with a concrete sewer access structure and a power pole along the Five Star Trail. While making sure the surrounding area was safe for responders and bystanders, firefighters secured the scene and examined the car for potential dangers.
Firefighters may need to access areas off of regular roads due to occurrences along the Five Star Trail, a multipurpose route that passes through multiple Westmoreland County villages. Until the car was secured and the situation was resolved, crews stayed on the scene to help with coordination and safety.
