Challenging Hoarding Conditions Prompt Coordinated Rescue Effort in Colonie
Colonie, NY - The Fuller Road Fire Department was dispatched to assist Colonie EMS with packaging a patient at a residence in the Roesselville area. Upon arrival, crews determined that the patient could not be removed using conventional methods due to severe hoarding conditions inside the home and the patient’s mobility limitations.
Additional assistance was requested from the Colonie Fire Company, West Albany Fire Department, and the Colonie Department of Fire Services. Working together, responders created an access point from the exterior of the residence to allow for a safe and coordinated patient removal.
The Fuller Road Fire Department extends its appreciation to all agencies that supported this challenging incident.
