Fully Involved Structure Fire Destroys Auto Body Shop in Turner

Turner, ME - On March 5, 2025, at approximately 08:22, the Androscoggin County Communications Center dispatched Turner Fire Rescue to 457 Auburn Road, known as Willy’s Auto Body, following multiple reports of a fully involved structure fire. Turner Engine 1, Engine 2, Utility 1, Rescue 2, and Rescue 3 responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews found the building engulfed in flames. All occupants had safely evacuated prior to firefighters’ arrival. Crews initially launched an offensive interior attack; however, due to rapidly deteriorating structural conditions, the building was deemed unsafe for interior operations. Firefighters were withdrawn, and operations transitioned to a defensive strategy.

Auburn Road was temporarily closed during the incident but was later reopened to one lane of traffic.

Despite extensive firefighting efforts, the building sustained severe fire and water damage and was ultimately declared a total loss.

Turner Fire Rescue acknowledged and expressed gratitude to its mutual aid partners for their support, including Auburn Fire Department, Leeds Fire Department, Greene Fire Department, Minot Fire Department, Buckfield Fire Department, Livermore Fire Department, Jay Fire & Rescue, Monmouth Fire Department, Hebron Fire Department, and Wales Fire Department.
