This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

South Berwick, ME — March 21st — Firefighters from South Berwick and Ogunquit were sent by Sanford Regional Communications Center to a home on Old County Road due to a car fire that was burning close to a garage. Because Ogunquit Fire's station is so close, it immediately responds to this area of the town. When emergency personnel arrived, they discovered a pickup truck completely engulfed in flames that extended into the garage.

Command issued a first alarm to bring in mutual aid companies because of the remote location and longer reaction times for additional resources. Firefighters from South Berwick and Ogunquit swiftly put out the garage fire before putting out the car. South Berwick Police and York Ambulance also arrived on the scene, along with firefighters from North Berwick and Rollinsford. During the incident, the South Berwick station was covered by Somersworth Fire.
