Windham, NH — March 30th — The Derry Fire Communication Center received calls about a reported passenger vehicle fire on Interstate 93 northbound around mile marker 6.6, and Windham firefighters responded. According to State Police, the car was reportedly completely involved. A well-involved passenger car in the breakdown lane close to the exit ramp was reported by Lt. Savard when he arrived. The person inside the car had already safely gotten out.
Engine-3 launched a fire attack as Chief McPherson took command. After arriving, Tanker-1 provided more water for the extinguishment process. While workers finished extinguishing and overhauling two lanes of the highway, New Hampshire State Police helped manage traffic. There were no reported injuries.
