Crews Quickly Knock Down Vehicle Fire in Wilkins Township

March 28, 2026 — Wilkins Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 3, along with Turtle Creek VFD and Wilmerding VFD, responded to a reported vehicle fire at the intersection of Penn Avenue Extension and Prospect Street. Upon arrival, crews encountered a passenger vehicle heavily involved in flames. Firefighters quickly deployed a bumper line and brought the fire under control within minutes, preventing further spread and hazards to the surrounding area.
The Allegheny County Fire Marshal responded to investigate the cause of the fire, and the damaged vehicle was subsequently removed from the roadway. No injuries were reported, and units cleared the scene shortly after operations were completed.
