This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

UTICA, NY — March 5th — A working structure fire in the 100 block of Leah Street prompted the Utica Fire Department, located at 552 Bleecker St., Utica, NY, United States, 13501, to react. The fire was eventually escalated to a second alarm. As more units were called in to help with suppression, ventilation, and search operations, firefighters from the department's 4th Platoon were on the site. Rescue, truck, and engine companies collaborated to manage fire conditions and inspect the building for potential expansion.

When more personnel and equipment are required to support fireground operations and safeguard adjacent buildings, second alarm assignments are requested. While workers worked hose lines and equipment in the area, Utica Police helped with traffic control. Until activities were finished, officials recommended locals and drivers to stay out of the area.
