Stamford Fire Department Honors Firefighter of the Year and Service Milestones

March 9, 2026 — The Stamford Volunteer Fire Department recognized outstanding dedication and service during a special ceremony Monday night, highlighting both individual achievement and long-term commitment within the department. Bob Costine was named Firefighter of the Year for his leadership in daily operations and for spearheading training efforts to familiarize members with the new Engine 2 and its SAM pump control system. In addition, three members were honored for their years of service, including Nick Mroz for five years, Ben Randal for ten years, and Alex Dargie for fifteen years. The department expressed its appreciation to all honorees and members for their continued dedication, teamwork, and pride in serving the community.
