Seaford, NY — March 21st — A reported house fire at 2873 Ocean Avenue in Seaford prompted the Wantagh Fire Department to react. The first person to come was Safety Officer Ex-Chief Joe Gross III, who noticed smoke coming from the garage. Chief of Department William L. Stevens succeeded First Assistant Chief Paul Krussmann, who had assumed command.

While Ladder 1 arrived to assist with interior operations, Engine 3 extended a hose line and secured a hydrant. Firefighters swiftly isolated and stopped the fire before it spread after locating it at an electrical panel inside the garage. Other units that responded included the Fire Police Unit, Ladder 2, Engines 1, 4, and 7, and Rescues 1, 2, 3, and 5. Before PSEG Long Island was able to secure the electrical service, the units ran for roughly 40 minutes.
