Syosset Fire Department Handles Car vs. Building Incident

Syosset, NY — March 5th — The Syosset Volunteer Fire Department responded to an automobile versus structure incident on Jericho Turnpike. Following reports that a car had collided with a commercial building down the road, fire department personnel were sent out. Firefighters secured the area and examined the building for structural damage as soon as they arrived. Additionally, crews assessed the car and managed any risks, such as potential gasoline leaks.


While firefighters made sure the building was secure and that no people inside were hurt, EMS professionals assessed the driver. Firefighters must evaluate scene safety and structural stability when cars hit buildings. Syosset units cleared the area and resumed service after finishing their tasks and ensuring the area was secure.
