Going Above and Beyond: Lieutenant Climbs Tree to Rescue Trapped Kitten in Newton Hamilton

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

NEWTON HAMILTON, PA - On March 21st, Station 26 was alerted by a homeowner that their kitten was stuck in a tree for over 24 hours. An engine crew responded to find the kitten 30-feet up the tree. The engine crew put up a 24-foot ladder, but came up a bit short, so that's when Lieutenant Snyder climbed the ladder and went up the tree to retrieve the kitten. Everyone made it back down safely, and the kitten was returned to the homeowner and is doing great.
