Multi-Agency Response to Three-Car MVA with Entrapment in Bantam

BANTAM, CT - On March 14th shortly after 1:00 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to 1101 Bantam Road for a three-vehicle MVA involving a door pop and entrapment. Bantam Fire, Bantam Ambulance, Litchfield Fire Department (LFD), and HHC Northwest Paramedics Medic 1 responded.


At the time, Bantam Fire units BFC 37 and 32 were handling another medical call in town, prompting the request for mutual aid from the Litchfield Ambulance Association (LVA).


Upon arrival, Car 3, Engine 36, and LVA Car 9 assessed patients in two of the vehicles, while LFD Rescue 5 assisted on scene. Both BFC-39 and LVA Car 9 transported one patient each.


After vehicles were cleared from the roadway, Bantam Road was reopened. Units on scene included Bantam Fire: Car 3, E39, R38, A39; Litchfield Fire Department: R5; Litchfield Ambulance Association: Car 9; HHC Northwest: NW Medic 1, HQ98; Connecticut State Police.
