Gorham, NH - On 20th March 2026 Friday afternoon, Gorham Fire and EMS responded to a reported motor vehicle accident in Pinkham Notch, where initial reports indicated possible entrapment. Due to information suggesting multiple occupants and the remote location, a mutual aid ambulance from Bartlett Jackson EMS was also dispatched.
Upon arrival, emergency crews discovered that the occupant of one of the vehicles was unable to exit due to the position of another vehicle alongside it. Responders utilized the winch on Rescue 1 to reposition the obstructing vehicle, allowing them to safely assist the driver out.
One patient was transported to Memorial Hospital by Bartlett Jackson EMS. Crews remained on scene until the vehicles were cleared by a wrecker from Mr. Auto in Berlin. Jackson Police and New Hampshire State Police also assisted at the scene.
Authorities emphasized the importance of caution, noting that despite the approach of spring, sudden snow events can create unexpectedly hazardous and slippery road conditions.
