Elmont FD Responds to Second-Floor Fire on Sewanee Avenue

Elmont, NY — March 13th — The Elmont Fire Department, located at 95 Lehrer Avenue in Elmont, New York, responded to a reported house fire at 171 Sewanee Avenue. Following complaints of smoke coming from a private residence, units were sent out. Shortly after the alarm went off, Chief 7010 arrived and verified that there was a fire on the second story. In order to notify arriving units and guarantee that more resources were arriving to the area, a functioning fire was broadcast.


To find and contain the fire, engine and truck companies extended handlines and started internal operations. Firefighters tried to prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the house. Chief Segovia was in charge of the incident. There were no reported injuries. Dominick Labianca and Boomer are the photographers.
