March 7, 2026 — Members of West Greenwich Volunteer Fire Company #1 responded as mutual aid to Western Coventry for a working barn fire, bringing Tanker 23 and eight volunteers to assist with operations.

Upon arrival, seven firefighters joined suppression efforts, working to control the fire and prevent further spread, while the tanker operator positioned the apparatus to supply water by drafting from a portable tank. Establishing a reliable water supply was critical due to the rural setting of the incident.

Crews operated on scene for approximately four hours, assisting with fire attack and overhaul operations amid heavy fire conditions and significant structural damage to the barn.

Mutual aid responses like this highlight the coordination between departments, ensuring sufficient manpower, water supply, and resources are available during large-scale incidents.
