Bloomingburg Firefighters Respond to Fatal Structure Fire

The Bloomingburg Fire Company responded to a reported structure fire at 2 Linda Lane at 7:58 p.m. on March 18th.
Members were already at station for their weekly drill and responded swiftly. Within minutes, units 62-01 and 62-02 arrived and confirmed a working fire before asking further resources from the Village Box. After receiving reports of suspected entrapment, crews initiated fire suppression operations while performing primary searches.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and conducted secondary searches of the structure, discovering one deceased inhabitant. Several mutual aid departments, as well as the New York State Police, Sullivan County Fire Investigators, and EMS organizations, responded to the incident. The Bloomingburg Ladies Auxiliary offered refreshments for firefighters working on the scene.
