GLENVILLE, NY — March 18th — Firefighters from the East Glenville Volunteer Fire Department responded to 12 weather-related calls for assistance throughout the district after severe winds damaged trees and electrical lines. The majority of the replies took place between 12:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m., when firemen dealt with seven different incidents at the height of the storm.
Crews responded to an additional five storm-related calls later in the day. Firefighters worked overnight to clear hazards and secure damaged areas, ensuring the safety of streets and neighborhoods. The Alplaus Fire Department gave mutual help assistance. Officials cautioned locals that if they come across downed power lines, they should remain away and avoid touching anything the wires may be lying on. Residents are encouraged to report the hazard by contacting 911.
