This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Lisbon, ME - Lisbon Fire Department units responded to Williams Road to assist the Sabattus Fire Department with a barn fire. Lisbon Engine 7, with a crew of three, Truck 6 with a crew of four, and Chief 501 arrived to support crews already on scene.

Firefighters worked together to stretch additional hose lines and establish a tanker shuttle due to the rural setting and limited water supply. Tankers from neighboring communities helped transport water from a hydrant fill site in Lisbon Falls.

Thanks to early notification from a family member and the quick coordination of crews, the fire was contained to its area of origin, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the barn or attached structures. During operations, firefighters also rescued eight ducklings from the fire area.

The fire was placed under control around 6:30 AM, with crews remaining on scene for overhaul before clearing at approximately 8:15 AM. Mutual aid support came from Sabattus, Wales, Monmouth, Bowdoinham, Greene, Bowdoin, Litchfield, and Turner.

The departments praised the great teamwork and coordination displayed by all involved.
