Fairlawn, NJ - On Tuesday morning, March 9th, Fairlawn NJ emergency communications received calls for a house fire at 77 Pomona Ave. First arriving firefighters were met by heavy fire conditions. On entry of the initial attack line a partial roof collapse occurred, pushing crews out by the front door. Pockets of fire were everywhere and the attic was fully involved at this one-anda-half story, cape cod style home. A second-alarm was declared by the Incident Commander, bringing a full department response to the scene and to cover up at borough firehouses. The Paterson NJ Fire Department assisted at the scene, as they were also called out for same outside smoke conditions in their city that bordered that area. No injuries were reported, but the house was deemed a total loss.
