At 1:43 pm on Saturday, 3/13/2021 the Yantic Fire Company was dispatched to 28 Montgomery Lane for a brush fire. Car 38 arrived at 1:47 and reported a large area burning and requested East Great Plain and Taftville for manpower. Engine 31 arrived at 1:53 and stretched two 1.75” hose lines into the woods. Engine 33 and 52 positioned on Mohegan Road and stretched lines into the woods. Engine Tank 51 supplied 33 and 52 with water while Tanker 61 provided water at the top of the incident. Engine 22 was directed to Julian Terrace to check how far the fire had extended in that direction while Engine 21 assisted companies up top. Bozrah Engine 126 covered Yantic while Greeneville Engine 2 and Occum covered Taftville and responded to a gas leak.
