The Elmira Heights Fire Department responded about 10:15 p.m. on March 9 to assist the Horseheads Fire and Rescue Department with a reported structure fire.

Engine 732 was dispatched as part of the mutual aid response to help Horseheads crews with operations on the scene. Firefighters worked cooperatively to control the situation before Elmira Heights units were released.

All Heights units returned to duty about 11:00 p.m. after completing their assignment. Officials stated that mutual aid responses like this help ensure that enough manpower and resources are available during emergency situations.
