On March 9, the Homer Fire Department responded as mutual aid to the McGraw Fire Department's request for a Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) for a reported structure fire at 4252 North Tower Road in Solon.

Homer unit 541 responded as the RIT assignment, ensuring firefighter safety during suppression operations. In addition, unit 563 assisted with drafting and tanker filling operations, as well as fireground apparatus.

Officials stated that the synchronized response aided continuing firefighting operations and kept the water supply operational during the event. All Homer units cleared the area and returned to duty around 2:06 a.m.
