On February 28, about 1:11 p.m., Taunton Fire Department units responded to a reported industrial fire in the Solvay Fire District. Following the dispatch, Ladder 5, Car 1, and Car 2 responded to help. First responders discovered a small fire inside the facility, which was restricted to several bales of cardboard.

Firefighters put out the fire and opened the bales to reveal and eliminate any residual hidden hot spots. Crews remained on the scene to ensure that the area was completely secure before the situation was cleared. Taunton units operated for about 30 minutes before resuming to service.
