At 7:36 p.m. on February 18, Taunton Fire Department units responded to the 4500 block of Onondaga Boulevard for an accident detection alert, which was shortly updated to a confirmed Signal 80 involving two vehicles.

Taunton Car 3, Ladder 5, and Engine 6 responded to the incident. Assistant Chief Martin arrived first and reported a head-on incident that had blocked the westbound lanes. Firefighters stabilized the vehicles and aided with emergency care when they arrived.

AMR Ambulance moved the patients away from the scene, while the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office handled traffic and incident support.

Firefighters remained on the site for just over 30 minutes before clearing the area and returning to service.
