TUPPER LAKE, NY — February 15th — The Tupper Lake Fire Department, situated at 21 Santa Clara Ave., Suite 1, PO Box 849, was called to a home at 240 Park Street that had a flooded basement. When water was found to be building up inside the basement, Miscellaneous Unit 168 was sent to help. Before assisting with the water problem and inspecting the area for safety issues, firefighters arrived and assessed the situation.

Snowmelt, frozen ground, or plumbing problems can all result in basement flooding throughout the winter. When water conditions present possible threats within a structure, fire crews often help the people. Crews cleaned the area and resumed operations once the problem was resolved and no other problems were discovered.
