NORTH HUDSON, NY — February 23rd — In response to a car fire on Interstate 87, the North Hudson Volunteer Fire Department, located at 3034 US Route 9, closed southbound traffic between Exits 30 and 29. Following reports of a burning car on the roadway, emergency personnel were sent to the Adirondack Northway. While the road remained closed to enable safe operations, firefighters attempted to contain the fire and protect the area.

Essex County is heavily traversed by Interstate 87, and events on the roadway frequently necessitate coordination between law enforcement, fire, and transportation officials. Until the fire was put out and the road could be reopened, responding authorities oversaw traffic control and scene safety. There were no reported injuries.
