The Blauvelt Volunteer Fire Company Inc. responded about 6:30 a.m. on February 19 to a reported vehicle accident with entrapment at the intersection of Western Highway and Sgt. Demeola Road.

Upon arrival, firemen discovered a vehicle on its side, with one occupant trapped inside. Crews swiftly began extrication procedures and securely removed the individual from the vehicle. The patient was subsequently sent to the South Orangetown Ambulance Corps for medical examination and treatment.
