Sheridan Fire Department Conducts Rugged Terrain EMS Rescue

February 10, 2026 — Sheridan Fire Department responded to an EMS call on Route 5 involving a patient located in rugged terrain near the railroad tracks.
Due to the difficult access conditions, firefighters deployed ATV-161 along with the department’s new Rescue 161 to reach the patient. The specialized equipment allowed crews to safely access the remote area and assist with the rescue.
The response also marked the maiden run for both ATV-161 and the new Rescue 161, demonstrating their capability in challenging terrain situations.
Firefighters worked together to safely assist the patient and complete the rescue operation.
