Wallkill, NY — February 22nd — On February 22, during a storm, firefighters from the Wallkill Hook, Ladder and Hose Co., located at 112 Bona Ventura Ave., Wallkill, NY, responded to a reported structure fire on Plains Road in the Wallkill hamlet. After confirming that it was a working house fire, arriving responders started search and suppression efforts.

One individual was taken to a hospital after suffering severe injuries, according to fire officials. Two more people were also transported to the hospital for assessment, one of them was a police officer on the scene. In order to suppress the fire and look for an extension, firefighters collaborated with EMS and law police. Responding teams faced additional difficulties due to the weather. The cause of the fire remained under investigation following the incident.
