Mutual Aid and Training Highlight Week for Glens Falls Crews

Glens Falls, NY — February 10th — Firefighters with Glens Falls Firefighters IAFF Local 2230 responded during early morning hours as temperatures hovered near -20 degrees to a reported chimney fire that had extended into the roof of a residence. Arriving units confirmed a working structure fire and activated a tanker assignment to support water supply operations.


Crews from multiple agencies stretched handlines and began an aggressive attack, bringing the fire under control and limiting damage to one section of the home. Mutual aid was provided by Hudson Falls Volunteer Fire Department, Fort Edward Fire Department, J.A. Barkley Hose Company No. 1 (Argyle Fire/Rescue), Fort Ann Volunteer Fire Company, South Queensbury Fire Department, Hartford Volunteer Fire Company, and West Fort Ann Fire and Rescue.
