Mutual Aid Crews Work Overnight Fire in South Queensbury

Queensbury, NY — February 27th — Queensbury EMS and firefighters from the South Queensbury Fire Department, located at 409 Dix Ave., Queensbury, NY, were called to a reported structure fire near East Sanford Street. The first person to arrive was Queensbury Central Chief Duprey, who confirmed that there was a fully involved barn fire well off the road. To contain the fire, crews started an outside fire attack and strung hose lines throughout the property. Firefighters carried out a thorough examination to look for any concealed hot spots after the main body of fire was put out. Queensbury Central Volunteer Fire Company, West Glens Falls Volunteer Fire Company, Bay Ridge Volunteer Fire Company, and Kingsbury Volunteer Hose Company all offered mutual aid. The South Queensbury station was covered by the Hudson Falls Volunteer Fire Department.
