The Owasco Fire Department responded to reports of smoke inside a residence at 6:15 a.m. on February 23.
Mutual aid was requested from the Aurelius, Fleming, and Sennett fire departments, as well as Auburn City Ambulance. Firefighters checked the house and discovered the source of the smoke, which was found to be a problem with the furnace.
Crews ensured the area was safe and determined that there was no live fire within the house. Responding units removed the scene after performing ventilation and hazard assessments.
According to officials, the issue was resolved without any injuries, and all units resumed service after around 45 minutes.
