Bohemia, NY - On 3rd March 2026 at approximately 11:30 a.m., the Bohemia Fire Department was activated to assist the Central Islip Fire Department by standing by at their headquarters while Central Islip crews operated at a large-scale fire within their district.

While covering the district, Bohemia crews responded to a motor vehicle accident that involved a fuel spill, ensuring the situation was quickly brought under control.

A few hours later, Bohemia firefighters were requested to respond to the original fire scene to assist with extinguishing remaining hot spots from the earlier operation. Engine 1 remained on scene until the work was completed and returned to service at approximately 3:15 p.m.

The Bohemia Fire Department commended the Central Islip Fire Department and all mutual aid departments involved for their outstanding work during the incident.
