Two People Hospitalized After House Fire in Lima

LIMA, NY - Around 8:30 A.M. on Sunday, March 3rd, Lima and East Avon Fire Departments, along with Lima EMS, were dispatched to an automatic fire alarm at 1783 Rochester Street in the village of Lima. While responding to the call, the assignment was upgraded to a structure fire with a person trapped. A second-alarm was struck, bringing in Honeoye Falls and Livonia fire departments for an additional engine and RIC. One person was removed from the home by firefighters, and both occupants were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. The blaze was brought under control in about 30 minutes. The cause remains under investigation by Livingston County Emergency Management and the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. Livonia and Honeoye Falls/Mendon EMS also assisted at the scene.
