DAHLONEGA, GA — February 13th — Yahoola Creek Park served as the site of practical field training for Lumpkin County Emergency Services EMS/Fire Academy students, bringing classroom instruction into a real-world context. Ten EMT students participated in stressful medical and trauma situations that emphasized patient care, scene safety, and making decisions in fast-paced settings. The University of North Georgia Corps of Cadets provided support for the training by volunteering as patient actors to bolster skill development and improve authenticity.

According to officials, scenario-based training helps students get ready for complicated situations and is in line with national EMS education standards. Additionally, Teresa Armendarez, Emeril Littleton, Ashlie Fleeman, Frances Lewis, and Ellora Menon were acknowledged by the department for their assistance with the exercise. Initiatives such as these help future first responders become more confident, cooperative, and operationally prepared.
