February 20, 2026 — Adelphia Fire Company is urging residents of District 2 (Adelphia) to participate in the upcoming Board of Fire Commissioners Election and Budget Vote scheduled for Saturday, February 21, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Adelphia Fire Company Station 2, located at 993 Route 33, across from The Cabin Restaurant. Fire officials emphasized that the proposed budget reflects the Board’s continued commitment to maintaining the highest level of fire protection for the community. The taxable rate would increase modestly from 0.0340 per $100 of assessed valuation to 0.0402, equating to approximately a $5 annual increase for a home valued at $750,000. According to district representatives, the adjustment is necessary to replace critical aging equipment, including a 30-year-old tower ladder and a 47-year-old tractor used for the department’s water tanker, as apparatus costs have significantly exceeded existing capital reserves. The Fire District and the all-volunteer Adelphia Fire Company expressed appreciation for the community’s ongoing support and encouraged residents to make their voices heard through participation in the vote.
