February 18, 2026 — The Manchester Fire Department shared positive news this week as its long-anticipated Annex Building is scheduled to arrive Monday. Department officials extended their appreciation to Jeff Williams and the Town DPW crew for preparing and clearing the site ahead of delivery. The additional structure will provide much-needed space to protect equipment and enhance operational readiness. While community support has been strong, the department reports it is still $25,000 short of its fundraising goal. The remaining funds will be used for paving, electrical installation, and heating to ensure the building is fully functional and capable of safeguarding apparatus and gear, ultimately helping crews respond more efficiently to emergencies. Community members are encouraged to donate, share the campaign, or connect the department with local businesses interested in sponsoring the project. Those wishing to pledge support or request additional information may contact Bill Beideman, 2nd Assistant Chief, at w.beideman@manchester-vt.gov or by phone at 570-213-1316. Department leaders expressed gratitude to all who have contributed, noting that continued generosity directly strengthens the safety of volunteers and the broader Manchester community.
