MADISON COUNTY, GA — February 9th — In South Madison County, Madison County Fire Rescue was called to a reported home structure fire. When units arrived, there was no fire or smoke evident from the outside, so they started looking inside. As soon as they entered the house, firefighters discovered a fire on the second level. The fire was contained and put out with little damage when crews launched a concerted interior attack.

According to officials, minimizing the effects required effective coordination and early notification. Two homes were assessed by MedCenter EMS for mild smoke inhalation. Neither required transport, and no injuries were reported. The response emphasized how crucial it is to have functional smoke alarms, respond quickly, and coordinate fire and emergency medical services during residential occurrences. The cause of the fire is still being looked into.
