MADISON COUNTY, GA — February 6th — Under the guidance of Captain Harry Ward, Madison County Fire Rescue firefighters underwent training in Rope Awareness and Rope Operations. Safety, equipment, hazard assessment, and rescue preparation were the main topics of classroom teaching at the start of the course. After that, the crews engaged in practical exercises involving the construction of anchors, knotting, and the use of rope and mechanical advantage systems.
Firefighters are prepared for technical rescue situations like high-angle, restricted space, and vehicle extrication help, according to officials. These abilities also help national rescue standards and regional mutual aid actions. The Tennessee Commission on Firefighting certification in Rope Awareness and Rope Operations will now be contested by participants. In order to bolster rescue capabilities and enhance operational preparedness throughout the county, department leaders announced that Rope Technician training will be provided in the upcoming months.
