PCFR Launches First EMT Training Class

BARTOW, FL — January 27th — Members of the Proactive Diversity Recruitment and Training Program and Rescue Ready Recruits participated in the inaugural Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course offered by Polk County Fire Rescue's Training Division. The training equips students with the operational and medical knowledge required to deliver prehospital emergency treatment.
Participants are studying medical response protocols, trauma treatment, CPR, airway management, and patient assessment. Graduates will be one step closer to joining Polk County Fire Rescue after finishing the program and passing the National Registry exam, which will make them eligible for state certification. According to officials, the program promotes operational readiness, workforce development, and recruitment.
