Burlington Fire Department Mourns the Passing of Retired Captain Larry Snow

February 11, 2026 – The Burlington Fire Department has announced with deep regret the passing of retired Captain Larry Snow of Engine Co. 4. Captain Snow served the City of Burlington with distinction from June 3, 1968, until his retirement on August 14, 1994.


Over the course of 26 years, he exemplified dedication, professionalism, and steadfast leadership, earning the respect of his colleagues and the gratitude of the community he helped protect. His service left a lasting imprint on the department and on generations of firefighters who followed in his footsteps.


A memorial gathering will take place on Sunday, February 15, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Elks Club, where family, friends, and members of the community are invited to pay their respects. The department extends its heartfelt condolences to Captain Snow’s family, loved ones, and all who had the privilege of serving alongside him.
