Two Drivers Hospitalized Following Head-On Collision in Bethel

February 3, 2026 — Members of the Bethel and Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Departments responded Tuesday morning to a two-car, head-on collision at the intersection of Plumtrees Road and Maple Avenue Extension. Upon arrival, crews secured the scene and assisted emergency medical personnel in stabilizing both drivers. After evaluation by EMTs and paramedics, the drivers were transported by ambulance to Danbury Hospital for further treatment. The roadway remained closed for approximately one hour as firefighters cleared debris and arranged for the damaged vehicles to be towed from the scene. The Bethel Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
