January 30, 2026 – At 3:53 p.m., the Waldoboro Fire Department was alerted to a tractor-trailer fire on Ralph’s Hill along Route 1. First arriving units reported the tractor fully involved in flames, with heavy fire conditions visible upon arrival. Crews quickly established an attack and worked to contain the blaze in challenging winter conditions. Route 1 was closed for just over four hours to allow firefighters to extinguish the fire, overhaul the scene, and ensure the area was safe for reopening. Mutual aid assistance was provided by Jefferson Fire & Rescue, Nobleboro Fire and Rescue, Bremen Volunteer Fire Department, and Warren Tiger Engine Company. Officials confirmed that there were no injuries as a result of the incident. The department also extended its appreciation to Automaster Collision Center, Tyler’s Towing, and the Maine Department of Transportation for their assistance in clearing the scene and restoring traffic flow.
