Hanover Fire Department Supports Dartmouth College Polar Bear Plunge

February 6, 2026 — Members of the Hanover Fire Department provided support and safety coverage for the Dartmouth College Polar Bear Plunge, assisting organizers and participants during the annual winter tradition. Fire personnel were on hand to monitor conditions, ensure participant safety, and stand ready to respond to any medical emergencies as individuals took part in the icy-water event. The department’s presence helped maintain a controlled environment, allowing the community event to proceed safely despite freezing temperatures and winter conditions. Officials commended both participants and first responders for their coordination and teamwork throughout the plunge.
