Just prior to 3:00 PM on January 30, 2026, the Aston Township Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of Concord Road and Colonial Drive for a reported accident with entrapment. Chief 17 arrived on scene to find a collision involving a trash truck and a pickup truck, with one individual trapped inside the pickup. Squad 17 responded and quickly initiated extrication operations. Firefighters utilized hydraulic rescue tools to safely remove the trapped patient from the vehicle. The individual was then transferred to awaiting EMS personnel and transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. Crews worked efficiently to secure the scene and clear debris, restoring normal traffic flow. The department commended the coordinated efforts of responders in bringing the incident to a safe resolution.
