ALMOND, NY — January 25th — Almond, New York Fire & Rescue had their annual dinner to honor members and adjacent departments who provide mutual aid throughout the year. The event brought together firemen and community partners to recognize service and cooperation throughout the region.

During the evening, the department reintroduced the Fireman of the Year award after several years. Firefighter Chris Dieter, who has served for more than 20 years, received the 2026 recognition. Department authorities praised his consistent engagement in training, community events, fundraising, and operational responses.
