MENANDS, NY — January 15th — The Menands Fire Department got a seasonal letter of appreciation, praising personnel for their assistance in escorting Santa Claus through the Village of Menands over the holiday season. The letter also expressed the department's support for the annual Toys for Tots initiative, which provides gifts to youngsters in need. The letter thanked members for assisting with safe transit through the community as well as collecting donated toys. Members received bespoke holiday hoodies with the department's insignia as a show of thanks.
